Opening Day Splash!: Herscheid Outdoor Pool Kicks off Season with a Bang

Herscheid – Hundreds of excited swimmers welcomed the opening of the Herscheid outdoor pool on May Day, with the first visitor even receiving a bouquet of flowers from the mayor. Here’s what you need to know about the season’s first day:

Large Crowd Enjoying Summer-Like Temperatures

A long queue of eager swimmers formed early in the morning, with Claudia Schumacher from Lüdenscheid being the first to dive in. She praised the pool’s friendly staff and family atmosphere.

“The Herscheider outdoor pool is the most beautiful bath in the area. The staff is very friendly, and there’s still a real family atmosphere.”

The mayor, Uwe Schmalenbach, greeted Schumacher with a bouquet of flowers, while other early visitors received Herscheid logo bathing ducks and sponsored shower gel bottles.

Regulars Ready for another Successful Season

Frequent swimmers Denise Dressler and her daughter Mia Marx were among the first to hit the water, excited to start another season: We are here almost every day, even in bad weather.

DLRG Training Resumes

The local DLRG members are preparing to resume their training on May 5th, Mondays and Thursdays, 6-8.30 PM.

Bittersweet News: Heidi Schreiber Leaves

The popular business manager, Heidi Schreiber, will leave the Herscheid outdoor pool at the end of July.
