Mark Your Calendars for the Holistic Center’s Open Day

The Holistic Center in via della Vegetura, 36, kicks off its new season on 30 August 2025 with an Open Day dedicated to the ancient practices of Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga. This is an event not to be missed for both beginners and experienced practitioners!

Hatha Yoga: The Harmony of Opposites

“Hatha,” derived from two Sanskrit words – ‘Ha’ (sun) and ‘Tha’ (moon), symbolizes the balance and harmonization of opposites, explained expert instructor Stefania Del Grande, president of the Study Center Maitri Sanga APS in Rieti. Hatha Yoga is an invitation to slow down, linking breath with movement, and fostering introspection and relaxation.

  • Progressive warming to prepare the body
  • Synchronized breath with movement
  • Deep relaxation, often ending in Savasana
  • Incorporation of mantras, mudras, bandhas, and meditation

The Dynamic Flow of Ashtanga Yoga

Ashtanga Yoga, developed by K. Pattabhi Jois, emphasizes synchronization of breath and movement, creating a dynamic flow of energy. Focusing on the energy band (bandha) along the spine enhances its numerous benefits.

  • Improved flexibility and muscle strength
  • Stress and anxiety reduction
  • Enhanced concentration and memory
  • Promotion of overall health and wellness
