The municipal council of Montebelluna has recently approved the executive project to continue the process for the development of the Omar Frassetto building in via Biagi. The project carried out by the Structural Engineering Studio of Eng. Marco Cardin of Montegrotto Terme is concerned with exceptional maintenance and is aimed at improving the structure in terms of architecture, systems, lighting and reducing electricity consumption, health of the building to ensure the widest and most specific usability of the structure throughout day, promoting the values ​​of equal opportunities, the dissemination of the principles of non-discrimination, social inclusion, participation of disabled people, ethnic minorities and other socially vulnerable groups. In this regard, the project includes the renovation of the changing rooms and toilet block, where the use is also guaranteed for disabled people, providing dedicated toilet facilities for spectators. , athletes and referees; access doors to all rooms in the block with a minimum width of 90 centimeters; spaces suitable for the circulation of people in wheelchairs and the reconstruction of external horizontal signs to identify the necessary parking spaces reserved for the disabled.

The sports councilor, Andrea Marin, determined: “An important and necessary intervention to improve the structure of the structure and expand the possibilities of its use (the disciplines currently practiced are Basketball, Volleyball, Judo and physical gymnastics). The project seeks to develop the sports structure to become a reference sports space for teaching activities in the new adjacent school complex as well as for the practice of other non-competitive disciplines: athletics – indoor; school in football; kickboxing; air dport; mountain climbing”.

Mayor Adalberto Bordin concluded: “With the approval of the executive project, we are taking an additional step towards the completion of one of the most anticipated sports construction projects in the city. An intervention that adds to the upcoming urgent for the arrangement of the roof for which the Municipality allocated about 500 thousand euros. This more general intervention, however, was made possible thanks to the funds of the Sport and Suburbs ministerial tender for which the Municipality obtained thousand euros to which an additional 300 thousand euros of municipal resources are added. The advantage of the project is the renovation of the building but also expands the possibilities of use in terms of physical activities, in particular, for example, to install a useful wall for those who want to train in mountaineering.

Planned interventions

The removal of the existing wooden floor and its replacement with a new wooden sports floor with the characteristics of sports functionality and uniformity required by the FIP/Italian Basketball Federation Regulations. The project also includes: the modification of the access steps of the western staircase, painting, especially in the areas subject to water infiltration from the roof, construction of connecting ramps with new floor compatible with two emergency exits with the resulting replacement. on the internal doors to access the storage rooms and fixing the walls that limit the space reserved for the referees and commissioners of the game. Electrical systems: replacement of ordinary and emergency lighting with new low energy consumption LED fixtures. Hydrothermal and sanitary systems: replacement of existing non-functioning air heaters and the related supply line. Installation of an artificial wall to be used for sport climbing. Maintenance with replacement steps and new polycarbonate parapet.

  • Judo gym
    Looking forward to replacing the tatami. Fresh paint in areas subject to water ingress from the roof. Replacing ordinary and emergency lighting with new low energy consumption LED fixtures. Hydrothermal and sanitary system: replacement of the existing air heater.
  • Changing room and toilet block (referees, athletes, public)
    The complete transformation of the block is expected through the following activities: redefinition of the distribution layout; replacement of vertical and horizontal covers; replacement of internal windows; construction of new toilets and showers; painting.
  • Electrical systems: replacement of ordinary and emergency lighting fixtures with new low energy consumption LED fixtures; installation of FEM electrical sockets; installation of electric hairdryers for changing rooms for athletes and referees.
  • Hydrothermal and sanitary system: reconstruction of water supplies by intercepting the existing line; new sinks, toilets, shower trays and related faucets and accessories; accessories for toilets and showers provided for the disabled; reconstruction of the drainage network by intercepting the current and installing new floor drains; replacing existing radiators with new fan coils. Forced air extraction system. The intervention of changing rooms and toilet blocks will guarantee compliance with the standards of safety, health and cleanliness and comfort inside (internal temperature, air humidity, domestic hot water temperature).

The additional renovation works will talk about the entrance of the spectators and the ticket office, the entrance of the athletes, the distribution corridor, the outdoor area with the change of horizontals sign, modification of the side ramp of the Judo gym with a new parapet and handrail, replacement of the parapet and a new handrail for the access ramp to the main entrance, the construction of new connecting ramps between of existing pavements, natural lighting and ventilation, the air extraction system and artificial lighting.

Climbing sports
