TG Polch Badminton: Fun and Games to Kick Off the New Year
Annual Ribbon Tournament
The TG Polch Badminton department wrapped up 20XX with their annual ribbon tournament, drawing an impressive 25 participants from their ranks and neighboring clubs like TuS Kehrig and TSV Emmelshausen. The event was a resounding success, with an extensive buffet of food brought by players contributing to the lively atmosphere.
The tournament featured mixed doubles with changing line-ups, promoting a friendly and inclusive spirit among participants. Ralf Sauerborn walked away with top honors as the player with the most games won, but the department ensured that everyone felt celebrated by awarding the first place winner, the last place finisher, and the best female player.
In our department, it’s important to recognize not only our top players but also those who bring a positive spirit to our events.– TG Polch Badminton Member
Bowling Night
To kick off the new year, department members gathered for a sporting evening at a local bowling alley. After sharing a meal together, the group divided into teams to compete in a lively game of “disco bowling”™, aiming to score the most strikes. Ralph Lenk emerged as the bowling king, impressively clearing the left and right outer pins with a single throw.

Looking Ahead
With a successful start to the new year under their rackets, the TG Polch Badminton department looks forward to another exciting year. In addition to their weekly training sessions and club tournaments, they await the 4th Maifeld Cup in June.
