Caracas , 11 Dic. AVN.- The Venezuelan Giulia Dell’Acqua and the Ecuadorian Melanie Mandiich won the bronze medal in the doubles category, at the South American Badminton Championship, which takes place in the city of Santiago in Chile.

It should be noted that the event awarded medals to the 4 couples that managed to be in the semi-final phase, so by reaching the semi-finals, they managed to win bronze, reported Prensa del Ministerio para el Deporte.

Venezuela continues to add more successes in badminton on the continental level and demonstrate its high competitive level.

The South American Badminton Championships are part of a series of tournaments organized by the South American Badminton Confederation exclusively for the member countries of this sport in the region, namely Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname and Venezuela.

The inaugural edition of the tournament was held in 1984 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
