The ETV judo department welcomes ID judoka from all over Germany next Saturday in the Wandsbek sports hall on Rüterstraße. The organizer is the German Disabled Sports Association and the German Judo Association (DJB). The event is taking place in Hamburg for the first time.

ID Judo is the judo variant for people with a mental disability, which is also represented at the Special Olympics. The international term “ID” stands for “intellectual disability”, the free translation is usually “Judo with a handicap”.

On Saturday, May 4th, 2024, the competitions will begin at 10 a.m., the award ceremony is planned for 3 p.m., and the weighing will traditionally take place the evening before, May 3rd, between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. The competition takes place in a total of three competition classes, each with seven weight classes for male and female participants.

Organizers and organizers expect between 100 and 150 spectators. Sascha Costa, sports director of ETV Judoka and organizer of the German Championships: “We are looking forward to a great event. A good atmosphere is always guaranteed at ID Judo.”

The event is sponsored by the Hamburg Sports Office and Active City. Admission is free. For all judo fans who cannot be there live. There is a live stream at sportdeutschland.tv.
