Details of the Arrest and Charges

Garda Jerome Maher arrested Nash at 2.55am on November 6, 2025, at the Lakeview Roundabout in Midleton, Co. Cork. He was subsequently charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and dangerous driving.

The 39-year-old, formerly of Fota Island, Cork, and now residing in Sweden, has been remanded on bail until the May 14 hearing. Defence solicitor Graham Hyde requested a copy of the Garda notebook from the incident.

Nash’s Tenure at Cork City

Nash led Cork City to the 2025 FAI Cup final, where they were defeated 2-0 by Shamrock Rovers. He took over as the club’s manager midway through the 2025 season after the resignation of Tim Clancy, with the aim of leading the relegated club back to the Premier Division in 2026.

However, his resignation was announced by Cork City FC on social media just before Christmas, citing personal reasons. The club statement read: “Cork City FC has been informed by men’s first team manager Ger Nash of his decision to step down from the role, with immediate effect.”
