GDC Kangan inaugurates badminton court to encourage student performance – Rising Kashmir

Kangan, November 30: In a significant step to enhance sports infrastructure and promote physical fitness, Government Degree College (GDC), Kangan has officially inaugurated a state-of-the-art badminton court in its campus.
The graduation ceremony was attended by Principal Professor Sadaf Nazir, Chairman of the College Sports Committee Dr. Inatullah Dar, College Physical Education Teacher Dr. Mubasher Nisar along with faculty, staff and students.
The newly constructed badminton court aims to provide students with modern facilities for both recreational play and competitive training. Speaking on the occasion, Principal Professor Sadaf Nazir highlighted the importance of sports in the overall development of students. “This court is not just for games but a platform where students can hone their skills, compete and represent the college inter-college and district,” she said.
Dr. Mubasher Nisar shared details about the design of the court with high quality materials ensuring durability and comfortable playing conditions. They expressed their belief that the court will serve as a treasure for the college’s sports infrastructure. “This facility will allow for regular practice sessions, skill enhancement and competitive spirit of students,” said Dr. Nisar.
Students expressed their excitement and enthusiasm about the new facility. “Having access to such a well-equipped court motivates us to take badminton seriously and participate in the next tournaments,” said a student.
Principal Sadaf Nazir thanked all those who contributed to the project and the program ended with applause. She reiterated the college’s commitment to nurturing both academic excellence and physical well-being.
