Former NBA Champion and EuroLeague MVP Nemanja Bjelica Retires from Professional Basketball

Nemanja Bjelica announced his retirement from professional basketball in an Instagram post. A very talented position 4, a connoisseur of the game and a very good shooter, the former Serbian international was notably EuroLeague MVP in 2014-2015 and won the NBA title in 2022 with the Golden State Warriors.

In the process, the one who was trained at Partizan Belgrade before launching his career in… Austria, in Traiskirchen, before joining the rival club Red Star Belgrade made his return to Fenerbahçe Istanbul. At the end of the race physically, he only played 8 matches (including 7 EuroLeague) without managing to regain his level (2.4 points and 2.1 rebounds in 9 minutes). Although he signed for Red Star last summer, Nemanja Bjelica was not able to play competitively there again.

At 35, Nemanja Bjelica is retiring, having performed well with the Serbian national team, reaching the final of the 2014 World Cup in Spain in particular.
