A striker whose transfers were once paid in millions of euros, a Serie A winner with Juventus, Daniel Osvaldo (38) in a dramatic confession that he recorded, he admitted that he had hit rock bottom. In the video, which lasts ten minutes, he talked about his addictions, which brought him to the edge.

– I want to clarify and admit some things about my life. It’s hard for me to say because… I’ve never done anything like this. But I think the time has come because I am quite desperate – began Osvaldo and continued:

– I don’t know if it’s an appeal for help or I simply need to talk. I have been struggling with severe depression for a long time. That depression led me to addiction to alcohol and drugs. The truth is that I am at a moment when my life is getting out of control… I am undergoing psychiatric treatment, taking medication. Out of anger, I fell into self-destruction, and that destroys the people around me as well. I practically live alone, locked in my house. I don’t go out anywhere, I don’t do anything productive with my life, and sometimes I don’t even feel like getting out of bed. I don’t even want to take a bath sometimes – Osvaldo said, adding that he voluntarily distanced himself from others.

– Why do I want to tell you all this? I think the only way I can get out of it is if people actually find out what’s going on with me. I fell into very ugly addictions that only lead to my depression getting worse and worse. Because of this, I distanced myself from people who loved me a lot, who love me a lot, who I also loved and who I love a lot. That’s why I don’t want to see my family, I don’t want to share things with my children. I don’t have a stable job. I practically spent all my savings because since I have no income, money doesn’t last forever. But I was never interested in money. I was born poor and I can die poor – admits the former football player.
