The thirty-second episode of Big Brother on Tuesday 23rd saw Marco Maddaloni, former Judo champion, as the protagonist. In the previous days the man had already spoken about some aspects of his life: the story of his life on the outskirts of Scampia up to his Olympic dream of the World Cup won three years in a row.
Then of the difficult relationship he had with his father, especially after he fell in love with another woman again in 2005. This situation had led to a deep rift between father and son, a rift that was closed thanks to the intervention of the ex-player’s sister who, after more than a year, brought father and son back to face each other and talk to each other again.
The father of the former Big Brother Judo champion
During the evening episode of Big Brother on Tuesday 23rd, production as usual led the contestants to freeze, a moment which is often a prelude to surprises for the contestants. The surprise this evening saw the involvement of Marco Maddaloni and his father, Gianni, who spoke to him with an open heart.
These are the words: “I love you. The mistake I made is that I wasn’t close to you but I fell in love. And I still am.”. He then went on to also mention Marco’s daughter: “For me, you are a champion. Your daughter told me: dad will win because he is a champion. I replied to her that it is so because her father won an Italian championship at the age of 17.”
Then with even more force he reiterated to Marco: “Believe me Marco: I love you so much. I would never leave my people these days, but if I do it’s because I love you so much. Everything is done for the children Marco, everything”
Finally, after Marco has been released from production, he responds to his father in this way: “If we are who we are it’s thanks to mum and you. You have made many sacrifices, but today I am a father and I know why you made them. You made them to make us who we are now.”
