Flames Face Potential Roster Changes as Trade Deadline Approaches

The Calgary Flames are evaluating potential roster moves as the NHL trade deadline nears, with forwards Nazem Kadri and Blake Coleman aware they could be on the move.

Kadri Addresses Trade Possibility

Kadri, currently leading the Flames with 39 points (10 goals, 29 assists) in 56 games, has engaged in discussions with Flames General Manager Craig Conroy regarding his future with the team.

Coleman recently returned to practice on February 18th without a noncontact jersey for the first time since sustaining an upper-body injury on January 8th. He has 21 points (13 goals, eight assists) in 44 games and is second on the Flames in goals, behind Matt Coronato (14).

Both Kadri and Coleman bring valuable playoff experience to potential contending teams. Kadri won the Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanche in 2022, while Coleman was a member of the Tampa Bay Lightning’s championship teams in 2020 and 2021.

The Flames currently hold a record of 23-27-6 and trail the Seattle Kraken by 11 points for the second wild card spot in the Western Conference. Their next game is against the San Jose Sharks on Thursday.
