The bowlers took the first day of the fifth round of the National Cricket League to themselves. The bowlers have wrapped up the opposition team in all three fields. They have shown strength in another field as well.
18 wickets fell on the first day at Zahoor Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong. Batting first, Rajshahi were all out for 112 runs. Chittagong responded with 173 runs for 8 wickets. Same situation in Mirpur Sher-i-Bangla. 13 wickets were taken in the match between Khulna and Dhaka division. Khulna were all out for 172 runs. In reply, Dhaka Division ended the day with 58 runs for 3 wickets. At the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna, Dhaka Metro batted first and were bowled out for 130 runs. In reply, Sylhet ended the day with 137 runs for 2 wickets.
Shahid Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi also had the power of bowlers. Rangpur division picked up 7 wickets by sending Barisal to bat first. Barisal collected only 266 runs on the scoreboard. Ifti 70 in the opening, Salman Hossain Imon scored 67 runs in the middle order. Besides Tasamul 51 and Sohag Gazi 35 runs from bat.
Sumon Khan of Dhaka Division was the best bowler on the day. He took 6 wickets for 50 runs in 17.4 overs. Besides, medium pacer Fahad Hossain of Chittagong got a taste of Fifer. He took 5 wickets for 31 runs.
No one could shine in batting today. Mithun scored 69 in Mirpur, Amit Hasan scored 51* in Sylhet, Sadikur scored 54 in Chittagong.
