The Football for Schools program continues

FIFA Football for Schools combines football with education and encourages children to learn lifelong through fun football exercises. The program seeks to achieve ambitious goals by supporting the education and development of 700 million children and making football accessible to girls and boys by strengthening education systems through the values ​​of sport around the world. While the program continues strongly in many countries of the world, the most recent of which was Tanzania, the third phase was launched in Saudi Arabia, where it aims to discover and develop talents, and qualify male and female teachers responsible for sports activity, according to specific technical foundations.

The launch of the Football for Schools program in Vietnam was also particularly significant as safeguarding and child protection were added to the program for the first time. The Olympics are on the horizon

The FIFA Referees Committee appointed a total of 98 referees (21 field officials, 42 assistant referees, 20 VAR referees, and 6 support referees) from 45 countries to officiate the matches of the men’s and women’s Olympic football tournaments Paris 2024.

The list included 11 referees from Arab countries, including the Emirati referees Adel Al Naqbi, the Mauritanian Dahan Beida, the Sudanese Mahmoud Ali Ismail, and the Moroccan Bushra Karboubi. FIFA Integrity Summit in Singapore

FIFA and the Football Association of Singapore hosted the Integrity Summit on 4 and 5 April 2024 in collaboration with the Asian Football Confederation and in the presence of integrity officials from the 211 member associations and the six confederations. The summit aimed to inform integrity officials of the most prominent global trends prevailing in this field, and to share best applied practices, as well as to inform them of the new integrity guide prepared by FIFA and the educational method map related to integrity, and to review the decisions taken by both FIFA and the Court of Arbitration for Sport regarding match-fixing. .

Celebrating the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace

The International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, launched by the United Nations in 2013 and celebrated annually on April 6, focuses on the positive role of sport, especially football, in societies and in the lives of people around the world. This topic is of great importance to FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who has included football development and social responsibilities among his strategic goals for world football during the 2023-2027 cycle. Shedding light on the latest laws and regulations

The UAE Football Association held a legal workshop in cooperation with FIFA during the period from April 18 to 19, 2024, with the participation of a group of experts. The workshop dealt with the regulations and laws governing football at the international level, and shed light on the latest developments regarding football legislation in various fields, in addition to the experience of the FIFA clearing house and highlighting the list of player agents and player transfer processes.

Close cooperation for technical development

With the aim of developing women’s football in Algeria, the Women’s Football Committee of the Algerian Federation held the first technical development course for female coaches to supervise girls under 12 years old, in cooperation with the Norwegian Football Association, in a move that reflects how football truly unites the world.

The first edition of the course witnessed the participation of 24 female coaches, in addition to 120 girls, in theoretical and practical workshops, and the Algerian Football Federation aims to hold two additional editions during the coming period in order to spread women’s football in different parts of Algeria.
