The director of the Administrative Planning Department, Ana Cathalina Ochoa, presented to the Medellín Council the progress of the 2024-2027 Development Plan “Medellín Te Busca”. According to the report, the plan has 741 pillars and an adjusted budget of $8.4 billion, of which $5.8 billion has already been executed. This monitoring highlights sustained progress in the implementation of key projects for the development of the city.

The financial execution of the plan reaches 69%, while the physical-financial execution stands at 68%. The communes that have received the greatest investment to date are Robledo, Manrique, Villa Hermosa and Doce de Octubre, with a strategic approach to its development. The report highlights that part of the available balance will be spent in the last quarter of the year.

After completing the monitoring of the Plan, the modification of Agreement 79 of 2013 was approved in the second debate, which will allow different departments of the same Higher Education Institution to independently receive the Juan del Corral distinction. Councilor Juan Guillermo Vélez, promoter of the change, argued that this will recognize the individual contribution of faculties and research centers to the academic development of the city.

With 19 votes in favor, the Medellín Council approved the modification, which recognizes the impact and relevance of universities and their different agencies in the educational advancement of the city.
