Eure-et-Loir Departmental Council Boosts Local Sports Clubs with New Minibuses

In a move to energize local sports associations and volunteers, the Eure-et-Loir Departmental Council has handed over 10 new minibuses to clubs across the department. The initiative, led by President Christophe Le Dorven, aims to provide vital support and relief to the dedicated members of these clubs.

Key Recipients and Impact

  • The Handball Club de Toury was among the recipients, with club manager Stéphane Bizouerne expressing excitement for the new vehicle that will alleviate coaching duties and facilitate travel for the club’s 14 teams.
  • Other beneficiaries included the Rancing Club Bû/Abondant Football, Gallardon Basket, Athletics of Cloyes-sur-le-Loir, Basket du Foyer des Jeunes de Champhol, Dammarie Foot Bois Gueslin, C’Chartres Judo, Entente Sportive Nogentaise Football, Courville Club Basket, and Luisant Athletic Club Sainte-Cécile – Women’s Gymnastics.

Minibus Specifications and Distribution

Each minibus can accommodate up to 9 passengers, along with space for a person in a wheelchair. The first three vehicles were distributed a year ago, with the final delivery scheduled for early 2026. The department ensures an equitable distribution by supporting one file per canton, with the exception of Nogent-le-Rotrou and Saint-Lubin-des-Joncherets, which will join the program soon.

Sports associations receiving keys to their new minibuses

“We are quite far away, out of the center of the department, so that will give us a little support. We have fourteen teams in the club, so that can only give us a plus in terms of travel. We find it more and more difficult to have people who help us: parents who find it difficult to follow us.”

Stéphane Bizouerne, manager of Handball Club de Toury

Future Plans and Optimism

The Departmental Council invested €400,000 in this initiative, and President Le Dorven is optimistic about the potential impact on volunteers and clubs across the department. With this boost, local sports associations can better support and engage their members, fostering a thriving sporting community in Eure-et-Loir.
