Hemant Sharma, Indore. ED’s action at the house of Congress leader Vishal Golu Agnihotri in Indore, Madhya Pradesh continued for the second day. During the Enforcement Directorate’s action, laptops and mobiles were searched. The Dubai connection of the Congress leader is also being investigated. In the last few months, Golu Agnihotri had made several trips to Dubai.
Actually, ED has detained Congress leader Golu Agnihotri for questioning in a money laundering case related to illegal cricket and tennis betting. This action was taken on 12 December 2024 in Indore, Ujjain and Ludhiana. Where ED raided 5 places. ED started investigation on the basis of FIR lodged by Ujjain Police of Madhya Pradesh. In this case, accused Piyush Chopra and his associates had created a huge network of illegal betting by obtaining SIM cards through fake documents.

Investigation revealed that Piyush Chopra and his team used to place bets through a website called LONDOEXCH9.COM. These betting transactions were tracked by software called “hosts”. Proceeds of crime were earned by transacting money through Hawala network. ED has frozen unaccounted cash worth Rs 31 lakh, objectionable documents, digital devices and assets worth Rs 8 crore during the raid.

According to sources, Congress leader Golu Agnihotri’s direct connection with this betting racket has come to light. It is alleged that he was instrumental in running this network and was involved in hawala transactions. ED has also arrested Golu Agnihotri’s special associate Vipul, from whom a huge amount of money has been recovered. At present, ED is busy interrogating Congress leader Golu in the entire matter.
