We’re looking forward to launching Live Start Points in the coming days for EA SPORTS FC 25, which will allow you to use and edit real-world scenarios in Manager Career and Footballer Career during the 2024/2025 season as the start of your adventure.

We first announced Live Start Points in our Detailed Reviews ahead of the release of FC 25. In these Field Notes we’ll talk in detail about what the in-game experience will be like, so let’s move on to the next step.

Live starting points

Live Start Points are a new way to experience your Manager Career and Footballer Career. Start your adventure in hotspots based on real-world events in European football during the 2024/2025 season.

The following leagues will have Live Start Points available:

  • Premier League
  • LALIGA EA SPORTS
  • Serie A Enilive
  • Bundesliga
  • Ligue 1 McDonald’s
  • EFL Championship
  • Barclays Women’s Super League
  • F League
  • Google Pixel Women’s Bundesliga
  • Arkema Premier League

Additionally, most cup competitions will be updated to reflect real-life progress, creating more authentic settings for your live Starting Points. Competitions covered include domestic cups in England, Italy, Germany and France, as well as all UEFA competitions in their current formats:

  • UEFA Champions League
  • UEFA Europa League
  • UEFA Europa Conference League
  • UEFA Women’s Champions League

When Live Start Points are released, look for snapshots in the FC 25 main menu, showing highlights from the calendar of the featured European leagues, whether it’s a marquee match, a derby, a title fight or a battle for the decline. When accessing snapshots, you will access the Live Starting Points menus by simply clicking “Go Now!”.

Otherwise, you’ll be able to access Live Start Points when you start a new Career Mode save, as long as you’re online. They will reflect the latest results and positions, allowing you to model how the rest of the season goes. When creating a new Manager Career or Footballer Career from the FC 25 main menu, you will see a new Live Starting Points option, as shown below:

Let’s look at the live Starting Point creation experience in both Manager Career and Footballer Career.

Manager career

Once you have selected “Live Start Points”, you will be able to select your club from any of the leagues above. At the top of your screen you will see several dates to choose from, allowing you to select a preferred game week as your Live Starting Point. The standings, results and upcoming matches will correspond to that moment in time, including the cup progress of your club and its rivals.

At that point it’s up to you to create your own avatar or choose whether you want to play as a manager, similar to the usual experience in Manager Career mode.

A settings screen that allows you to customize your first and last name, nickname, and country, along with an avatar.

We’ve also introduced a roster editor and suspensions and injuries, and expanded our injury system to cover more such events in Career mode. You have the option to view, delete or edit any injuries and suspensions your squad has at that particular time, meaning you can rewrite real narratives by making your players unavailable due to injuries or suspensions, all before starting your career. .

Once you have everything ready, you can continue to start your career while we upload real-life data and results. You’ll see real-world data on your Career loading screen, as shown below at the bottom of the screen.

The game weeks are identical in Manager Career and Footballer Career, as are the results and positions you can start from.

You’ll have access to all the usual Footballer Career options, from Created Player to Real Footballers and Icons.

Once you’ve decided who you want to play as, start your career while we load the data and organize the world. You will then be prompted to create the save file and you can take action.
