Dresden Tram Routes Temporarily Altered: Key Changes and Impacts
Lines 6 and 13 Divided; Line 8 Returns to Previous Route
From Monday, September 1, 2025, to Friday, September 5, 2025, tram lines 6, 8, and 13 in Dresden will operate on temporary routes due to a construction site under Hoyerswerdaer Straße. Here are the key changes:
- Line 6: Divided into two sections, west (Wölfnitz to Eisenbahnstraße) and east (Tolkewitz to Prohlis via Güntzplatz).
- Line 13: Also divided, west (Kaditz to Görlitzer Straße) and east (Prohlis to Tolkewitz via Güntzplatz).
- Line 8: Temporarily returns to its previous route via Augustusbrücke and Postplatz between Albertplatz and Hauptbahnhof.
- Bus replacement: EV6 runs between Anton-/Leipziger Straße and Güntzplatz via Albertplatz and Albertbrücke.
Traffic Disruptions Ahead
These tram diversions may lead to significant traffic restrictions on Hoyerswerdaer, Rothenburger, and Louisenstraße during the construction period. A full closure is expected on Louisen- and Rothenburger Straße from September 1 to 3.
The Dresden city plan shows these congestion areas and closures.
Plan Ahead, Stay Informed
Commuters are advised to plan their routes carefully and allow for extra time during these disruptions. For real-time updates, follow Dresden Public Transport.
