Dominican Women’s 3×3 Basketball Team Triumphs at Central American & Caribbean Games
The Dominican women’s 3×3 basketball team showcased their skills and secured victories against the representatives of Guyana and Caribbean Sports Center on Friday at the prestigious Central American & Caribbean Games held in San Salvador.
Victory against Guyana
In their first game of the day, the formidable team composed of Cheisy Hernández, Nayely Morillo, María Marte, and Yadira Polanco dominated the court and defeated Guyana with an impressive score of 21-8. Polanco contributed nine points, while Hernández added five points to the scoreboard. Despite the defeat, Kenescha Leacock of Guyana showcased her talent with seven points.
Triumph over Caribbean Sports Center
In their second game, the Dominican girls continued their winning streak by defeating the team from Caribbean Sports Center (Guatemala). María Marte’s nine-point offense and Hernández’s seven points led the team to victory. Dania Calderón of the defeated team showcased her skills with six points.
Quarterfinals Await
With an impeccable record of two victories without any defeats, the Dominican team has successfully qualified for the quarterfinal round. Their next challenge awaits them on Saturday, July 1, in a thrilling match that kicks off at 6 in the evening (DR time).
