Dojo des 3 Rivières Fosters Judo Growth Through Training and Inclusivity

The Dojo des 3 Rivières (D3R) is actively strengthening its judo program and community ties through a series of initiatives, including youth training camps and a commitment to inclusivity with the development of parajudo opportunities.

Youth Development Through Mini-Stages

Last week, D3R hosted two days of mini-training for twenty-five young judokas representing the club’s three sections: Quimperlé, Mellac, and Moëlan-sur-Mer. The program catered to athletes aged 6 to 12, blending judo practice with exposure to other sports.

They were able to discover Kemperle table tennis and the Quimperlé-Clohars handball club explains Xavier Supernan, sports instructor at the club.

These sessions are designed to foster cohesion and provide a positive learning environment.

They promote group cohesion in a constructive atmosphere educationally, technically and sportingly.

Mass Training and Inter-Club Collaboration

D3R recently hosted a mass training session for judo clubs across Finistère, welcoming thirty athletes to the dojo on rue d’Arzano. These gatherings aim to strengthen relationships between clubs and facilitate mutual learning among participants.

Expanding Access: Parajudo Development

Demonstrating a commitment to inclusivity, D3R is actively pursuing development in parajudo. Xavier Supernant recently completed professional para-judo training in Rennes, in partnership with the Ligue de Bretagne, earning a “Teaching Expertise Certificate” to facilitate the growth of parajudo within the club (module 1).

D3R is focused on expanding its areas of development, including disability support, athletic advancement, educational initiatives, and social connection.
