Seven Players Tied for Lead at 119 Visa Argentina Open
Seven golfers are locked in a tight battle for the lead after the second round of the 119 Visa Argentina Open presented by Macro at the Jockey Club of San Isidro. Alistair Docherty, Shad Tuten, Chris Korte, Jackson Van Paris, Hunter Eichhorn, Russell Knox, and SY Noh all share the top spot with a total score of 11-under-par 129.
Van Paris and Montgomery Shine in Round Two
Jackson Van Paris carded a remarkable 8-under 62, the best round of the day, briefly threatening the course record before a bogey on the 9th hole. He shared the honor of the day’s best round with Taylor Montgomery, who surged 72 positions up the leaderboard.
Docherty Focused on Patience and Process
I tried to be as patient as possible, respect my routine and my process, and stay committed to the game plan. So far it has worked well and I must continue like this to avoid mistakes. It’s an incredible course and the key is to play intelligently, avoid big mistakes, especially in shots on the green. I have been working a lot on the mental part to try to be as consistent as possible.Alistair Docherty
Docherty, a 31-year-old American born in Canada and trained at California State University, emphasized the importance of mental fortitude and strategic play on the challenging course.
Tuten Overcomes Early Struggles
I had a very bad start. I’m struggling a little with the mental part of my game and, I was able to complete a good round. I feel very comfortable playing on this course; it is very similar to one that I played many times in the United States. I like coming here, I have visited Argentina for many years and that helps me.Shad Tuten
Shad Tuten, 33, acknowledged a challenging start but praised the course’s familiarity and his comfort level playing in Argentina.
Korte Highlights Course Demands
In general I played very well; all aspects of my game worked and I didn’t make many mistakes. I took advantage of the opportunities I left myself to hole out and, when I missed off the tee, I was able to execute very good approach shots. The course is becoming more demanding, especially due to the fact that the greens are increasingly harder and with a lot of movement. You have to abandon the ball in the correct sector and not always attack the flag.Chris Korte
Chris Korte, 29, noted the increasing difficulty of the course, particularly the challenging greens.

Oliva Pinto Leads Local Charge
Argentine amateur Segundo Oliva Pinto is the top local player, currently in 23rd place with a score of 7-under-par 133 after a second-round 65. He has also secured the Emilio Pereyra Iraola Cup, awarded to the best amateur of the championship.
