The incident occurred late in the fourth quarter, with the Cavaliers leading 98-92. Schröder brought the issue to the attention of officials after taking offense to comments made by a fan in the front row.

Bickerstaff Intervenes

Schröder then approached Pistons head coach JB Bickerstaff, his former coach, to address the situation. According to announcers, Bickerstaff repeatedly asked Schröder, Tell me what he said, tell me what he said.

Following a discussion between Schröder, Bickerstaff, and the referees, arena security escorted the fan from the arena.
