The Cuban Baseball Federation has taken the first step towards the 2026 World Baseball Classic, releasing a preliminary list of 35 players drafted for the national team, as confirmed by a reliable source.
Training and Preparation Regiment
The selection process will kick off with a training period in Havana from January 11, during which the coaching staff will assess the physical and competitive condition of the summoned players.
The team is then expected to travel to Nicaragua in mid-February to establish a training base and participate in preseason games, providing an opportunity to prepare for the main tournament through competitive play.
As part of their training, the Cuban selection will also take to the fields in Arizona, where they will engage in two preseason games against professional baseball opponents during spring training.
