TC Court-St-Etienne as well as La Courtoise Gymnastics Club presented several candidates. In the over-18 joint level, however, D3 mixed badminton team Plum Stephanoise, who won the award, was promoted to D2. Palte Stephanoise A, who moved up to the Honors Division, and the same club team that won the Belgian Cup, which had not been there since 1993-1994, were candidates.
Alderwoman Mary-Line Romain presented young volleyball player Leah Josewski with her first two trophies. She was absent, having been caught in Challow by her League A side’s match. Alderman awarded Lauren Desart, founder of Court-Saint-Etienne Tennis School, where he has been involved since 2020. The volunteers are not forgotten, Luc Henin (table tennis), Paulette and Yves Bertels (pinball from Tangisart) and also Albert Maus-Claissons (fishermen from La Roche-Tangisart) are highlighted.
The last word went to the mayor Michael Goblet d’Alvilla: “Court-Saint-Etienne was not merged in 1976, the municipality has only one club in many sectors, this is different. This does not detract from the sporting activities we encourage by subsidizing the renovation of facilities such as the football field and clubhouse, permanent tennis courts. The new gym, combined with the renovation of the sports hall at Saint-Étienne College, will provide a true sports center with an investment of 6 million. This emphasizes the development of sports in the municipality..”
