Oklahoma State head coach Steve Lutz has announced the addition of Dana Valentine to the Cowboy Basketball coaching staff, further bolstering the team’s bench with another proven winner. In a move that prioritizes great teaching and even better people, Lutz expresses his excitement about Valentine’s impact on the team.

From National Titles to NCAA Success

• Valentine joins Oklahoma State after two successful years at St. Bonaventure, where he helped guide the team to back-to-back 20-win campaigns and a top-25 scoring defense ranking.
• Prior to St. Bonaventure, Valentine spent five years at Putnam Science Academy, leading the team to a record of 77-3 and a pair of national championships as head varsity coach from 2018-21.

Welcome Home for Valentine

For Valentine, the move to Oklahoma State represents something of a homecoming, as three of his former players at Putnam Science Academy are currently suiting up for the Cowboys: Benjamin Ahmed, Arturo Dean, and Abu Ousmane.

From Football to Basketball

Before his unlikely path into the basketball world, Valentine was a college football running back at Worcester State University. His coaching journey began through his involvement in the grassroots community, with roles at Notre Dame Prep and AAU New England.
