China Dominates Thomas & Uber Badminton Cup, Beats Indonesia in Final

Six years after their last victory in the competition, the Chinese men’s team reclaimed the Thomas & Uber Badminton Cup after beating Indonesia 3-1, while the women’s team also regained the Uber Cup for the first time time since 2020 after crushing Indonesia 3-0 on May 5 in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province (southwest China).

It was the first time since 2012 that the same two countries faced each other in the men’s and women’s finals.

With the end of the championship, China now has a total of 11 titles won at the biennial tournament, behind Indonesia’s 14 victories.

For its part, the Chinese women’s team won its 16th Uber Cup title in the morning, beating Indonesia in less than three hours.

The international badminton championships took place in Chengdu from April 27 to May 5.
