Championship Decided in Dramatic Fashion

The team of Jaime Rubino, Pedro Porcel, Manuel Pérez, Alejo Pérez, and Diego Clivio emerged victorious in the 2026 Summer Tournament, hosted by the Chacabuco Golf Club. This win marks their second consecutive championship, having also secured the title in 2025.

The tournament, sponsored by Blue Restaurant Bar, featured nine local teams competing over a two-month qualifying stage.

Tournament Recap: Qualifying and Semifinals

Following the qualifying rounds, the top four teams advanced to the semifinals, played on Saturday. The championship match was held on Sunday.

The winning team also topped the qualifying stage, accumulating a total of 1,358 strokes.

Final Standings

• 1st Place: Jaime Rubino, Pedro Porcel, Manuel Pérez, Alejo Pérez, and Diego Clivio (1,358 strokes)

Semifinal and Final Results

In Saturday’s semifinals, Barnetchegaray and Cáceres defeated Scanella and Marino 2 and 1, although Peralta and Levato overcame Mozzino and Nigro 1 up.

Also on Saturday, Alejo Pérez and Clivio beat Lopetegui and Fioramonti 2 up, and Manuel Pérez and Rubino defeated Guarrochena and Keeling 4 up and two to play.

The final, played Sunday afternoon, required a tiebreaker. Barnetchegaray and Cáceres defeated Manuel Pérez and Rubino 5 and 4, and Alejo Pérez and Clivio defeated Peralta and Levato 4 and 2.

The playoff pitted Barnetchegaray and Cáceres against Alejo Pérez and Rubino on holes 10, 11, 17, and 18.

Dramatic Finish Secures Championship

After a closely contested match, Alejo Pérez and Jaime Rubino defeated Leonel Barnetchegaray and Martín Cáceres 2 up on the 18th hole.

Alejo Pérez holed out after a great shot from the bunker and after a 5-meter putter thrown by Jaime Rubino. Both ended up making birdies to take the win and the title.

Repeat Champions

This victory marks the second consecutive Summer Tournament championship for the team of Jaime Rubino, Pedro Porcel, Manuel Pérez, Alejo Pérez, and Diego Clivio.

In 2025, the team, comprised of Sebastián and Jaime Rubino, Diego Clivio, Manuel and Alejo Pérez, defeated Ignacio Fioramonti, Joaquín Lopetegui, Gonzalo Guarrochena and Peter Keeling.
