Xavier Allen, a remarkable student-athlete from Carson High, will soon be strutting through the school halls, two City Section championship rings proudly displayed. These symbols of excellence aren’t just for show; they represent Allen’s outstanding contributions to both the football and baseball teams.

Baseball: A Walk-Off Hero

Last spring, Allen made headlines when he smashed a walk-off home run in the City Division I semifinals, leading Carson to a thrilling victory over Banning at Dodger Stadium. This heroics didn’t stop there; he then played a pivotal role in the Colts’ Division I title win, demonstrating extraordinary skill and determination on the baseball field.

Football: A Force to Be Reckoned With

But Allen isn’t just a baseball sensation; he’s also a force to be reckoned with on the football field. On Saturday, he helped Carson secure a resounding 36-0 victory over Crenshaw in the Open Division final, allowing just nine points in three playoff wins. As a linebacker, Allen leads the team with an impressive 91 tackles and maintains a perfect 4.0 GPA.

A Focus on Football

Despite his baseball success, Allen is so dedicated to football that he hasn’t been spending time honing his baseball hitting skills. His football coach, William Lowe, even offered to arrange additional batting practice sessions, but Allen remains laser-focused on his football season until it concludes.

The Colts will kick off their state 3-A playoff journey with a bowl game against Delano Kennedy at Carson High on Saturday at 6 p.m. As Allen and his teammates prepare for this intense showdown, one thing is certain: they’ll have a formidable force leading them on the field.
