Carolina Marín has received the Prince of Asturias Award. The badminton player receives this great distinction where other Spanish athletes such as the karate fighter were Sandra Sánchez or Marc Márquez.
The award has the objective of praising “the careers that, through promotion, development and improvement of sport and its social dimension, have become an example of the possibilities that sports practice entails for the benefit of human beings.
The beginnings of Carolina Marín

The Princess of Asturias Awards reach its forty-fourth edition and this year 321 applications from 55 nationalities have been submitted. They are intended to distinguish those people and/or institutions that cThey contribute with their work and their merits in the scientific, technical, cultural, social and humanitarian areas to progress and social well-being in an extraordinary and exemplary way.
What has been known now is the jury’s decision in which 24 athletes were nominated, but it will not be until the month of October in Oviedo when the badge is awarded at the annual gala held at the Campoamor Theater.
