Carlos Alcaraz, the world No. 1, extended his impressive run with a comprehensive 6-2, 6-4 win over American Brandon Nakashima on Friday, securing his spot in the semifinals of the ATP 500 Tokyo.

“I’m feeling great. The ankle is fine, and I’m playing some of my best tennis,” said Alcaraz (“Me siento muy bien, la tobillera bien y estoy jugando a un nivel muy alto“).

Alcaraz, who turns 23 next month, was in complete control, converting three out of seven break points and not offering any chances on his own serve. The Spanish sensation showcased his dominance from all corners of the court, solidifying his position as the clear favorite.

Semifinal Matchup: Alcaraz vs. Ruud

Alcaraz will face off against Casper Ruud, the world No. 12, in the semifinals. The Spaniard leads their head-to-head 4-1. This will be their fifth meeting in 2025 alone.

Tokyo ATP 500 Semifinals Schedule

Alcaraz and Ruud will take to the court on Monday, October 6, at 6:00 AM BST, in what promises to be an exciting clash.

In the other semifinal, Americans Taylor Fritz and Jenson Brooksby will go head-to-head at 4:00 AM BST. Both semifinals will be broadcast live on Disney+ Premium.
