Judo Dominates with Four Medals,cluding Three Golds
Carabobo state delegation kickstarted the III National Communal Sports Games 2025 with a flourish, adding five medals to their tally – three gold and two bronze. Judo proved to be the standout sport, bagging four medals in total.
Ezequiel Tarazona was the first Carabobeño medalist, triumphing in the men’s -28 kilograms judo category.

Soon after, Álvaro Matheus and Grehiskar Alvarenga ascended to the top of the podium in the men’s -31 kilograms and women’s -34 kilograms categories, respectively. In the women’s -31 kilograms, Estrella Montes won bronze.
First Athletics Medal and Team Triumphs
Fabiana Peña brought home Carabobo’s first athletics medal, securing bronze in the women’s ball throwing event. Meanwhile, the men’s basketball and handball teams started their campaigns with resounding victories.
The basketball team routed Apure 90-34, while the handball team defeated Barinas 45-32.
