After a brief and unsuccessful stint in Cyprus, legendary Croatian midfielder Mijo Caktaš is reportedly on the brink of a comeback to his home country. The 33-year-old, who enjoyed a glittering career at Hajduk, could be set to join second division outfit Dugopolje, according to unofficial sources.
Information about the negotiations with Dugopolje was published by the “CroatianFootballNews” profile on the X social network.
A Star’s Rise and Fall in Cyprus
Just months ago, Caktaš joined Cypriot side Anorthosis as a free agent but managed to tally only 147 minutes of playing time. Following the termination of his contract, the midfield maestro is now scouring the market for a new club.

One of Hajduk Split’s most prolific players, Caktaš scored an impressive 97 goals in 228 appearances for the Dalmatian club. After departing Poljud in 2016 for Russian side Rubin Kazan, the midfielder embarked on stints at Saudi Arabia’s Damac, Osijek, Turkish teams Sivasspor and Kocaelispor, and Croatian outfit Osijek.
