George Kurtz, the CEO and founder of cybersecurity company CrowdStrike, has acquired a 15% minority stake in the Mercedes F1 Team, becoming a co-owner of the eight-time constructors’ champions. Kurtz brings a unique blend of racing experience and tech prowess to the squad.

Strategic technology advisor for Mercedes

As part of his new role, Kurtz joins the team’s strategic steering committee as a Technology Advisor. He will support the squad’s innovation and technology strategy, focusing on the intersection of competitive motorsport, data analytics, and performance.

Team governance remains unchanged

The team’s existing structure will remain unaffected by this move. Toto Wolff continues to serve as co-owner, CEO, and Team Principal. Mercedes-Benz and chemical conglomerate INEOS will each hold a one-third stake in the team.
