Bundesliga Duo Eyes Rennes Midfielder Fabian Rieder
Augsburg and Hamburg Submit Offers for Rieder
According to reports from The Team, Bundesliga sides FC Augsburg and Hamburg have tabled offers for Stade Rennais midfielder Fabian Rieder. With only a few days remaining before the transfer window closes, it remains to be seen whether Rennes willGreenlight
the move.
Rieder’s Impressive Loan Spell at Stuttgart
Rieder, 23, caught the eye of several German clubs during his loan spell at VfB Stuttgart last season. He made 33 appearances for the DFB Pokal winners, netting two goals and setting up seven assists across all competitions.
Augsburg and Hamburg’s Transfer Activity
Sandro Wagner’s Augsburg have been busy in the transfer market this summer, shelling out a reported €17m on eight new signings, capped off with an impressive 3-1 victory over Hoffenheim on the Bundesliga’s opening day. The addition of Rieder would further bolster Wagner’s side.
Hamburg, back in the Bundesliga after a five-year absence, have also bolstered their midfield with a string of signings. However, they’ve lost influential player Ludovit Reis to Club Brugge and have concerns over Immanuel Pherai’s fitness following his return from injury. Thus, they too are in the market for another midfielder.
Will Rieder Make the Switch?
With the Bundesliga duo’s offers on the table and only days left until the transfer window slams shut, time is running out for Stade Rennais to make a decision on Rieder’s future. Fans of both sides will be eagerly hoping for a swift resolution.
