BSC Arezzo Battles for Baseball5 Championship Berth in National Semifinals
Dalmine, Italy – BSC Arezzo will represent Tuscany in the semi-final round of the first-ever national Baseball5 championship this Sunday, February 22nd. The team will travel to Dalmine, in the province of Bergamo, to compete against the top teams from Central-Northern Italy for a chance to advance to the national final.
What is Baseball5?
Baseball5 is a dynamic new sport that blends elements of baseball and softball, played without bats and gloves on smaller fields. Teams consist of five players – a mix of men and women – creating a fast-paced and exciting athletic contest.
The Road to the Semifinals
BSC Arezzo earned their spot in the semifinals by winning the Tuscan regional title, defeating the Nuove Pantere Lucca. Now, they face a challenging quadrangular tournament against three other regional champions:
- Aosta Bugs (Valle d’Aosta)
- Braves Baseball & Softball (Lentate sul Seveso, Lombardy)
- Soft & Furios Treviso (Veneto)
Tournament Format
The four Elite category teams will compete in a round-robin format. The team with the best record will secure a place in the national final, scheduled for March 7th and 8th in Montebelluna, Treviso.

Coach Alessandro Fois will lead a BSC Arezzo team comprised primarily of players developed through the club’s youth system. The team embraced the opportunity to compete in this emerging sport and now aims to continue their success on the national stage.
