Kevelaer’s Breathing Space 2025: A Smashing Success with Thousands of Active Participants

Record-Breaking Participation in Kevelaer’s Breathing Space 2025

KEVELAER, [CITY] — Kevelaer’s Breathing Space 2025, a three-week event dedicated to free movement and relaxation, ended with resounding success, attracting over 3,300 active participants. This marks a significant increase from the previous year.

“We are overwhelmed by the enormous interest and great cooperation. Without the support of sponsors, coaches, and therapists, we could not have carried out the ‘breathing space’ to this extent,” said Andrea Kirk and Moira-Lou Kröll from Kevelaer Marketing.

Diverse Activities and Soaring Participation

  • A total of 119 courses were offered, including hikes, fitness workouts, dance courses, boules, and meditations.
  • The “Aquagymnastics” course saw a record attendance with 130 visitors.
  • First-time courses like “relaxation with herbs,” “progressive muscle relaxation,” and “zilgrei” also received enthusiastic participation.

Community Support and Refreshments

Edeka Brüggemeier supported the event, providing free fruit and drinks throughout, which proved invaluable during the continued high temperatures.

Open-Air Cinema: Laughter and Camaraderie

The event closed with the German comedy “Der Snick” at an open-air cinema, drawing around 400 cinema fans who enjoyed cool drinks and hearty snacks.

“The ‘breathing space’ showed how important movement and community are, especially in such wonderful weather. We are pleased that so many people have been able to use the offers and have actively participated,” said Andrea Kirk, division tourism.

Looking Ahead

Kevelaer Marketing plans to build on this year’s success, with plans already underway for next year’s Breathing Space event.
