Mathys Tel, who played for Bayern Munich in their recent match against RB Leipzig (0-3) before being substituted by Harry Kane, received racist insults on his social media accounts. Following the defeat in the German Supercup, the club expressed its support for the young striker, stating, “We strongly condemn the inhuman comments directed at Mathys Tel on social media. Anyone who writes such disgusting and racist things is not a true FC Bayern fan. Mathys, we stand behind you and offer our full support!”
A few minutes later, Mathys Tel posted a message on his Instagram account, saying, “I’m here to grow and every day teaches me something new, just like today. It’s all in the mind, and it won’t affect anything or anyone. Thank you to my true Bavarian family and all those who support me, whether it’s sunny or rainy.” Since joining Bayern Munich in 2022, the Frenchman has scored 6 goals in 29 games.
