Barcelona flex their muscles in comprehensive victory
BARCELONA, Spain – Barcelona continued their impressive form by routing Athletic Bilbao 5-0 in the Supercopa semifinals in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Wednesday. The victory extended their winning streak to nine matches under coach Hansi Flick.
Five-star performance from Fermin Lopez & Raphinha
Fermin Lopez was the star of the show, scoring one goal and setting up two more, while Brazilian winger Raphinha netted a brace. Ferran Torres and Roony Bardghji were also on the scoresheet in a dominant display.
Early onslaught seals the deal
Barcelona stormed into a 4-0 lead within the first half, thanks to goals from Torres (22′), Fermin (30′), Bardghji (34′), and Raphinha (37′, 46′).
Yamal ready for final
Lamine Yamal, Barcelona’s star forward, watched from the bench before coming on as a late substitute. He should be available to start in Sunday’s final, also to be played at King Abdullah Sports City.
