Wijk bij Duurstede – Excitement is mounting in the badminton world as five young stars from Badmintonclub Ricochet gear up for the Dutch Championship (NK) preliminary rounds! After winning their respective competition classes, Kyara, Savio, Flynn, and Kasper are now stepping onto a grander stage.
From Local Triumphs to National Preliminaries
In an exclusive interview with 247sports.news, Savio, who debuted this year, shared his enthusiasm: “It’s been an incredible journey! The away games, the atmosphere—it’s all been so exciting. Playing in these beautiful halls, knowing I’ve made it to the nationals, is just…wow!”The best part? Knowing I’ve made it to the nationals. It’s just…wow!
Kasper, now in his third season, found this year’s victories a bit too easy: “It was nice, but also a bit below my level. I’m ready for the challenge of the nationals.”
Club Championship and Open Doors
Before the nationals, Badmintonclub Ricochet hosts its own club championship on May 25. The singles preliminary rounds have already been played during regular play evenings. The club welcomes new players until July, with summer badminton sessions at just €3 per person from July and August.
