CWC Masters Doubles Tournament Set for March 2026
Red Deer, Alberta will host the CWC Masters Doubles Tournament from March 27-29, 2026, offering competitive badminton for players aged 25 and over. Registration is now open, with a deadline of Sunday, March 22nd, 2026, at 11:59 pm Calgary time.
Tournament Details & Eligibility
The tournament is open to players who are at least 25 years old as of March 27, 2026. Combined age categories will be used, including 70+, 80+, 90+, 100+, 110+, and 120+. Age groups may be combined if registration numbers are low.
Registration & Fees
Players can register online at www.badmintonalberta.ca. Entry fees are as follows:
- One Event: $110.00
- Two Events: $120.00
- Three Events: $130.00
A maximum of three events per player is permitted. Fees include GST, shuttles, and access to Friday and Saturday socials. Banquet tickets are available for an additional $65.00.
Membership Requirements
All players are required to have a current adult membership with Badminton Alberta (or another Provincial Association/National organization). You do not have to purchase a provincial player license, just the Badminton Alberta base membership.
Tournament Schedule & Draw
The tournament will begin on Friday, March 27th, 2026, at 6:00 pm. Draw times will be available online after 6:00 pm on Wednesday, March 25th, 2026. David Humble and Jeff White will oversee the draw, with Jeff Bell at Badminton Alberta handling the timing and publication of the draws.
Prizes & Safety
Prizes will be awarded to the winners and finalists of the Main Event and Consolation brackets. In Round Robin draws, only first place will receive a prize. Badminton Alberta and the CWC strongly encourage the utilize of protective eyewear.
