For anyone starting the new year with a resolution to exercise more: Have you thought about badminton? The fastest racquet sport ever.
In Nieuwkop, every Thursday night, except school holidays, you can attend Badminton Club Nieuwkop Fun Club Night.

The Christmas break is now over and rackets will be picked up again from January 9th.
Young members of the association are trained every Thursday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. The players are divided into two groups according to age. The ‘junior’ are between 9 and 12 years old, the ‘elderly’ are up to 18 years old.
Members of both the training teams will play in the introductory and youth tournaments respectively. The home games will be played on Sunday morning (from 10am) at De Stupel.
An enthusiastic ‘Young Seniors’ team will train from 7:30 PM to 8:15 PM, which after last year’s championship, will now play in the senior division. Games for this men’s team will be played on Thursday evenings.
Other seniors play their games from 8pm onwards and the racket pulling system often creates a surprising combination on the court.
Running for the third year in a row, the club championships are on the autumn schedule with Shuttle ’74 and Ter AR. Participation in this is not mandatory; The organization takes into account those who choose to skip this event: they can continue to play.
All in all, plenty of reasons to drop by on a Thursday night: there’s always something to do and BCN offers loan rackets and lots of fun.
Both new youth members and seniors are welcomed with open arms.
