Judo sensations: ASKÖ FairDrive Leonding’s impressive show at Austria’s largest international tournament

The ASKÖ FairDrive Leonding judo team made a splash at the recent international judo tournament in Zeltweg, Styria, clinching top 10 in the club ranking with an incredible haul of three gold, five silver, and three bronze medals.

The event, which attracted 153 clubs from 16 nations and almost 1,300 participants, saw the Leofighters shine across various age groups and categories.

Day one: Setting the pace

On the opening day, focusing on U10 to U16 age groups, sibling duo Eduard and Arthur Gabl bagged gold and silver, respectively. Florentina Stump and Raphael Fastingen joined the party with silver. Nujin Bekko secured bronze, while Severin Stump and Avi Bekko claimed seventh places.

Day two: Consistently strong

The second day was no less remarkable as the Leofighters continued their fine form in U18 and U21 categories, along with the general class. Emma Rieder occupied the gold spot in the general class, also snatching bronze in the U21 category. Selina Wögerer, Eva Haller, and Jessica Waldhör contributed with silver medals. David Doctor completed the medal tally with a bronze in his class.

Club ranking

With their outstanding performance, ASKÖ FairDrive Leonding catapulted themselves into the top 10 among the 153 participating clubs.
