Recently available on the podcast No MajorCasper Ruud looked back on his last two defeats to Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic at Roland-Garros in 2022 and 2023.

And the Norwegians realized that the task would not be too difficult.

“The two finals I played, against Rafa in 2022 and against Novak in 2023, I said to myself: ‘It will be very difficult… You understand that he will probably be on the court until death. He does not want to lose, especially Novak is trying to win his Grand Slam 23. We know he’s going to close and we could be 5–1, 40–0 in the first set and maybe he’ll win somehow. Against Nadal, because of the foot injury, I was confident, I wasn’t too nervous, of course a little bit. but I didn’t feel like I had problems, but the game started and I broke in the first game, that’s all.
