In the run-up to the race, Colapinto spoke with Latin media and recognized his greatest ambition. «I want to win Formula 1. I want to be Formula 1 champion»he said in statements collected by Diario OlĂ©. «Trying to be as well prepared physically and mentally, the objective was to be prepared to climb. Being a reserve pilot, if the chance comes at any time I have to be ready.”Colapinto said.
«Obviously, like all the other races, we were working a lot with the team in terms of the set up (tune-up) of the car. “I’m prepared for the race and obviously it’s going to be difficult because it’s something new, but I’m happy with this Sprint race experience.”Colapinto added.
The Argentine highlighted the importance of sprint races. «It’s good, it adds crazy more action and fun to the weekend. Whoever watches the races gives him another start to enjoy and support his driver. It’s a positive thing and obviously I’ll see how it goes, whether I like it or not. I will do the experience and then I will give my opinion.”Colapinto said.
«I live it with great joy. Obviously there are many people in Argentina supporting me, happy for my successes, for what I am achieving, they are enjoying it like me. Being in Formula 1 is something very nice, no driver has as much support as I have, and I am enjoying it.”added the Argentine.
«That is why I strive to continue progressing, achieving results. Obviously it is somewhat difficult for Argentines to go to the races, but the support is felt from everyone who is at home watching on television. So I am always grateful. And nothing… the exposure is greater in Formula 1 but I am handling it well, it is something that is not harming me in any way for now.Colapinto said.
