Master Ashik Houssen Mamodaly is an emblematic judo figure in Madagascar. He founded the Judo club in Tuléar, which later became HMS then CCS. And recently, he got his marshal’s baton by getting the rank of 7th dan. This honor was given to him during the Capricorn Tournament in Toliara, an event that he himself created and is now celebrating its 28th edition.
His career was punctuated by extraordinary events, including his participation in the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games as a member of the national team. Former national coach, national technical director and president of the Malagasy Judo Federation, he is recognized for his skills and leadership. He continues to influence the world of judo as an international referee and honorary president of the Federation.
