The ASD L’AIRONE DEI VENTI takes to the field for the BADMINTON Frecce Azzure tournament held in Palermo on 4 May ’24.

Led by their President, Felice Pàntano, Giuseppe Lo Presti and Daniela Esposito take to the field.

Despite individual problems and little training, the athletes sought social value in every single shot, and so it was!

Giuseppe Lo Presti takes home 2 wins out of 4 and Daniela Esposito 4 wins out of 4. They advance in the individual category rankings, taking significant victories. An honor for Pantelleria, as among all the smaller islands, it is the only one to participate in badminton sporting events.

The determination, the cunning, the agility has grown but the emotion which still plays tricks has not diminished: perhaps if the captain was there, with his competitive spirit, his advice and the hug after every match, there would probably be there would have been more victories. But that’s okay. A beautiful experience where our athletes demonstrated determination, where every shuttlecock, a bit like in life, must always be played with concentration, looking at the goal at the right time.

A question to Felice Pantano, the President: What does the near future of badminton in Pantelleria hold for us?

In Pantelleria, there is a lack of discussion, socialization, but above all that sporting competitiveness with all its values ​​to bring into life every day. I try to increase determination, respect, cunning, but above all playing sport while learning the goodness of life. We talk to the kids, we tell each other stories and this is a beautiful thing. The parents are happy and they themselves also give me advice on how to do it and I am happy about this, as I always seek perfection to give the best. Seeing those joyful eyes makes me grow in the love I have for them, for the child within us and for badminton. In September there will be many new things….
