Ariane Klotz: Reflecting on Her Debut Season on the Ladies European Tour
Ariane Klotz, the first Calédonienne to reach the European elite, is back home in Nouméa and Boulouparis before the 2023 season, reflecting on a debut year filled with challenges and lessons.
Ups and Downs in the Debut Season
After her first year on the Ladies European Tour, the golfer from La Ouenghi remains positive about her future on the circuit. “It’s been a year of discovery, with a lot of ups and downs,” she explains.
“The level here is much higher, I had to question myself about my training and the way I approached the game. But I know I have the level to keep going. It’s been disappointing in terms of results, but very rewarding in terms of learning.”
High Competition and Constant Pressure
With 130 to 144 golfers competing in each tournament, the Ladies European Tour is a high-pressure environment. “You always need to be among the best to keep your place here,” Klotz acknowledges.
Finding Form and Confidence
After a difficult start to the season, Klotz found her form in June, finishing 8th in Tenerife and again in Belgium. “I had some tough times in May, but I managed to get back on track and post some good results,” she says.
2023: Aiming Higher
Ranked 82nd last season, Klotz looks forward to continuing on the circuit, where the number of tournaments has been reduced to 14. Her goal? “To pass the cap and go even higher.”
