A Career Interrupted

Kim was once a rising star on the PGA Tour, achieving three victories before the age of 25 and representing the United States in the 2008 Ryder Cup. However, injuries and personal struggles led to his abrupt departure from the sport in 2012.

The birth of his daughter, Isabella, proved to be a turning point. I promised myself that I would show her that it’s never too late. Before her, I had no meaning in my life, Kim recalled.

LIV Golf and a Second Chance

LIV Golf extended Kim an invitation to play last season, offering him a platform for a comeback. After a challenging initial return, he regained his category through the qualifying school this year. He conquered Adelaide with 23 strokes under par, finishing three ahead of Jon Rahm.

Today nothing stops me, I can acquire back to the top, he said. I was not the best person, but today I am different. My daughter has seen that I am not a loser. Hugging her when she won has been the best moment of my life. I am not proud of who I was, but I am proud of who I am now.
