Andrey Rublev’s victory this Sunday put an end to the action at the Madrid Open. Rublev, who beat Felix Auger-Aliassime in the final, won the most important part of the financial prize distributed by the Spanish Masters 1,000, with a total prize of 15,503,525 euros, which represents an increase of 1.1% compared to last year’s amount.

In total, Rublev will receive 963,225 euros, an amount identical to that achieved by the champion in the women’s team, Iga Swiatek. Auger-Aliassime, thanks to her finalist status, like Aryna Sabalenka, will pocket 512,260 euros. The quarterfinalists, among whom is Carlos Alcaraz, for their part, secured 161,995 euros.

Despite the increase in the total amount distributed by the tournament, yes, the prize received by Rublev is somewhat lower than the one that Alcaraz won last year, since the Spaniard exceeded one million euros. This year, there has been a greater redistribution of amounts, which have been more generous to those players who fell in the early rounds.
